It’s national signing day and, admittedly, the Texas Longhorns are in a rebuilding period.
Ahead of signing day Charlie Strong had done a good job securing some of those bricks to rebuild the program. Just before Christmas, the Longhorns snagged the in the state, Mesquite Poteet’s Malik Jefferson. Still, the Longhorns lost four-star to the Aggies, leaving them without a viable quarterback recruit in the 2015 class.
But so far the Longhorns seventh-ranked recruitment class is shaping up to make this signing day the best one in a while for fans of Texas football.
This morning to fill in that quarterback gap, they’ve stolen away four-star from Florida State.

The Stronghorns also stole away Ryan Newsome from the UCLA Bruins, only to have the Bruins steal away presumed Longhorn recruit (and the second-ranked running back in the country) Soso Jamabo. Jamabo announced his commitment via Twitter in a tweet that given Strong’s propensity for disciplining players probably wouldn’t have gone over too well had he donned a UT uniform.

Jamabo did not delete the tweet, but he did follow up by from a Childish Gambino song: You See Me.
The Longhorns managed to scoop up Rockwall running back Chris Warren, a prospect who was widely considered a shoe-in for the University of Washington Huskies, in a decision that came down to the wire.
It was such a close call for Chris Warren that his mom brought # huskies balloons just in case. Crazy. @HornsDigest
