Army Bases in Texas Going Green
Fort Hood and other Texas Army bases are working to become more energy efficient, according to an in the .
By 2020 the Central Texas base aims to reduce its waste to 鈥�.鈥� Brian Dosa, Fort Hood鈥檚 director of public works, believes it won鈥檛 be an easy task.
鈥淚t鈥檚 really as much about behavior change as it is about technology,鈥� said Dosa. Recycling rates at soldiers鈥� housing complexes, for example, are low, he said.
In West Texas, Fort Bliss has pushed towards an eco-friendly facility . Throughout the base, solar panels have been installed to reduce the base鈥檚 energy and water usage. Earlier this year, the solar-panel system began producing power.
Austin Food and Wine Festival Begins

Austin Toros Battle for Championship
