Why Do My Property Taxes Keep Going Up Every Year?

A variety of factors - starting with the determination of a property's value - go into determining that property's taxes.

Today is the last day to file a protest with the for property taxes for the current year. (Well, technically, it's May 15, or, no later than 30 days after the sends your appraisal � whichever is later.)

So Central Texas property owners may wonder how the county appraiser settles on those home values â€� and why taxes seem to be perennially rising. To demystify the taxing and appraisal processes a bit, we asked  for an explanation of how all of this works.
