An Unlikely Supreme Court Justice

Supreme Court Justice is in Austin today promoting her new memoir , which gives readers an intimate look into the circumstances that shaped her character.

Sotomayor is the first Hispanic and one of only four women ever to serve on the . KUT’s Joy Diaz talked with her about the life of a Supreme Court justice, a life she didn’t imagine in her wildest dreams.

I didn’t even know what the Supreme Court was when I was a kid. You have to dream about what you don’t know, and in fact, one of the purposes of this book, a small one but an important one, was to teach kids about what the Supreme Court is, to make them curious about it, at a much earlier age than I found out about it.

Sotomayor will be at for a reading and book signing.
