The Tejano Monument will be on the south lawn of the Texas Capitol.
Over a decade in the making, the work is a monument honoring the contributions of Texas鈥� early Spanish-Mexican settlers and their descendants. The work was developed by Laredo artist . He was in 2001 to create the multi-statue piece.
The public is invited to a 鈥淢eet the Artist鈥� honoring Hinojosa tonight, at the Capitol Extension's Legislative Conference Center, Room E2.002A, at 6 p.m. An event the unveiling, the , is occurring this Saturday as well.
