Austin will soon have a second IMAX movie screen. The theater will add one of the ultra-large screens later this year. The change comes about a year after IMAX and AMC announced a to add between 15 and 25 new IMAX style screens around the country.
No final date on when the theater will be ready to go but the already lists the Barton Creek theater as "Coming Soon."
IMAX theaters are generally found in conjunction with tourist attractions like museums and aquariums, like Austin's current IMAX screen at the Bob Bullock .
