Emerging Artists Get Seven Extra Days To Apply For $65,000 City Contract

This is where the city will build a African-American Cultural & Heritage Facility. Emerging artists are encourage to apply for a grant to create a work of public art at the location.

Artists have an extra seven days to get their act together and write a proposal to create public art at the new the African-American Cultural & Heritage Facility. The building will be constructed at near Branch Street.

As , the City of Austin is looking for an emerging artist who may not have ever been commissioned before to create a public art piece. The January 10 deadline has been extended to January 17. 

The city is also hosting another information session for artists wishing to apply. It's from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. this Wednesday, January 5 at , Room 213.
