Armstrong’s Doping Case in Court
Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong is scheduled to have his today.
Armstrong is fighting that he used performance enhancing drugs. The agency wants to for life and take away his titles.
Armstrong has denied doping and his lawyers are arguing the USADA doesn’t have the authority to bring the charges against him. They are asking a judge to to stop the case.
District Judge Sam Sparks is scheduled to preside over Armstrong’s case this afternoon in Austin.
Fort Hood Bomb Plotter Faces Sentencing
The soldier convicted of a restaurant popular with Fort Hood troops is today.
Private First Class Naser Jason Abdo was supposed to appear for sentencing yesterday but requested more time to prepare. He plans to represent himself at sentencing. He told a judge last month that he felt uncomfortable sharing personal matters with his attorneys.
In May, a jury of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction. He could face life in prison.
